Filter lainnya belum mampu menurunkan kandungan Cadmium menjadi lebih rendah, bahkan filter spons hitam justru meningkatkan Cadmium menjadi 2x lipat dari kadar awal. Bioring Ceramic juga dapat menurunkan kandungan Fe dalam air hujan, namun meningkatkan jumlah zat padat terlarut (TDS). Hal tersebut dikarenakan bahan bioring dari material mengandung kapur yang apabila terkena air, kapur akan terlarut di dalam air. Hal tersebut juga yang menyebabkan nilai pH air hujan hasil filtasi bioring cramic meningkat. Untuk menghindari kenaikan TDS yang bersumber dari bahan kapur bioring cramik, maka diupayakan memilih material bioring cramic yang lebih baik. Penggunaan filter spons berwarna hitam dan spons 8D tidak disarankan, karena justru menyebabkan kenaikan beberapa parameter.
