Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of road infrastructure and economic growth on public welfare with population size as a moderating variable in West Java Province during the 2020-2025 period. The study is motivated by the crucial roles that road infrastructure and economic growth play in enhancing public welfare amidst a continuously rising population. A quantitative approach was employed using multiple linear regression analysis based on six years of panel data obtained from secondary sources covering all regencies and cities in West Java Province and processed using EViews12 statistical software. Prior to hypothesis testing, the study underwent stages involving panel data model selection, classical assumption testing, and model feasibility testing to ensure the validity of the estimation results. The findings indicate that road infrastructure and economic growth have a positive and significant impact on public welfare; furthermore, population size was found to significantly moderate the relationship between these two variables and public welfare. The study recommends that the West Java Provincial Government accelerate the development of equitable road infrastructure, foster inclusive economic growth, and prioritize population policies to ensure sustainable public welfare for future generations.
