Peran Tokoh Agama Dalam Mendorong Moderasi Beragama di Kota Ambon

This study aims to examine the paradigm of religious leaders towards strengthening religious moderation in the city of Ambon. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques using interview techniques. The data will be collected will involve religious leaders who are considered influential and have historical knowledge about the conflicts that have occurred in the city of Ambon. This research was carried out from November to December 2023 with a data processing technique using data triangulation developed by Miles and Huberman. Methods This research is a qualitative research using several approaches in collecting data and analyzing data. The condition of settlement segregation is influenced by the social order that is still segregated, maintaining conflict narratives and building common narratives. This segregation is rooted in the community, becomes an identity, and fuels distrust of other groups. Factors such as budget, education, health, infrastructure, and immigrants also affect the paradigm and role of religious leaders. Religious leaders have a crucial role in strengthening religious moderation in the midst of post-conflict societies living in segregation based on religious identity. The results of the research that has been carried out can be concluded: The paradigm and role of religious leaders in Ambon City towards the condition of settlement segregation is A number of consequential factors can be explained about what causes the inheritance of this conflict narrative. The segregated social order is certainly the first factor in this matter. Although the conflict has long passed, the segregation of residences is still maintained today. This segregation will lead to the flourishing of one-way narrative development, with a more intense exchange of stories only from the group itself.
